How ’bout them apples?

By Shira Hahn, OneTable Atlanta Hub Manager

We got to the “core” of the challah-day spirit a bit early last week as 100 wonderful OneTablers celebrated Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish new year) with a mixology workshop, honey tasting, and locally made hard apple cider at OneTable Atlanta’s Apples + Homies nosh! The long-time tradition of dipping apples in honey is meant to symbolize a super sweet new year ahead, and hosting the event at Urban Tree Cidery, Atlanta’s only hard-apple cider brewery, was sweet indeed. Their use of only local, organic ingredients was perfect for making some (golden) delicious cider and cocktails. Try them yourself with the recipes below – sure to create quite a buzz at your next Shabbat or Rosh Hashanah dinner!

Oh Honey Child
1 1/4oz Bourbon
1oz Lemon Juice
1oz Honey
UrbanTree Barrel Aged Cider
shake, strain over ice, serve

The Good Cider
1 1/4oz Vodka
1/2oz lemon juice
1/2oz apple juice
UrbanTree Classic Cider
shake, strain over ice, serve
