OneTable, welcome your new Detroit Community Ambassador: Claudia Halpern!
Claudia (she/her) is joining OneTable after three years at Michigan Region BBYO where she worked as their Associate Regional Director. Outside of work, Claudia started a small business called party sistas and enjoys celebrating people’s loved ones with them and creating gummy candy creations. Claudia was born and raised in the metro Detroit area where she resides currently. She has been very active in the Jewish community professionally and personally serving on many organization committees.
She is very excited to join the OneTable team and is looking forward to building relationships with people from around the country, and supporting their love for Shabbat.

Welcome, Claudia! What brings you to OneTable?
What brings me to OneTable is the love of Shabbat, bringing new & old friends together at a beautiful table, & supporting all of you in your Shabbat experiences.
What does Shabbat dinner mean to you?
Shabbat means a time to reflect, connect and take time to relax with new & old friends.
What one food are you bringing to a deserted island?
For all my Michigan people, Leo’s Coney Greek Salad!
What’re you most looking forward to doing in your new role?
I can’t wait to learn and connect with host from all over the country and learn from them how they bring in Shabbat in their communities.
What’s your favorite ritual and why?
Lighting Shabbat candles, I feel like watching the candles burn helps me reflect on my previous week and excites me to do it all over again the next week.
Favorite challah?
Everything challah! Who wants to bake challah together?
