Naso: The Power of Blessings

Welcome to Shabbat Moment, a text study series with Yael Shy, from our friends at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. Every week we share Yael’s Torah text study, mindfulness practice tips, and discussion questions for you to reflect + share with others at your Shabbat table. Subscribe here to get the Shabbat Moment delivered straight to your inbox!

This week’s Torah portion is Naso: The Power of Blessings.

Are blessings the same as “good vibes”?

What is actually happening when we turn towards someone and bless them?

In this week’s Torah portion, we learn why God wants humans to bless each other. A blessing is not a wish or a hope. Nor is it just about the words. In order to bless, we have to focus with intention and with heart.
