A note from Dani:
The past 6.5 months have been marked by so many moments of joy, overwhelming pride, growth and absolute love for Shabbat dinner. Since starting my role at OneTable 6.5 months ago, this Friday night marks the 28th Shabbat I’ve helped nourish as the LA Hub Manager (that’s about 250 dinners hosted around our City of Angels) and next Tuesday is my 24th birthday. I know they say that birthday wishes shared out loud won’t come true, but I’d like to share just a few of them with you in hopes that you can help make them happen.
I’m wishing for delightful dinners with new friends, weeks that end with soup that tastes like home, sunny, breezy, beautiful Shabbats on rooftops / the park / on my back deck! My wish is for more conversations with hosts who never imagined themselves hosting (and yet here they are), with guests who never imagined ending their week with Shabbat dinner (and yet here they are).
In celebration of my 24 years, 28 Shabbats, 250 dinners and in support of the belief that good food / good wine / good friends are just GOOD for you, please consider making a donation to the organization that honors that belief every single week and truly knows how to do it best.
To those who were planning on giving me a birthday gift, and to those who are just now learning that I’m a loud + proud Taurus, I’d be delighted if you made a donation (of any size! $15 nourishes 1 seat at the table and $150 covers 1 dinner) to support the work we’re doing in honor of Shabbat and the pure goodness of a nourishing Friday night meal.
