A note from Marissa:
OneTable has been a place where my passion for wellness, mindfulness, spirituality, and community have come together. I am so honored to have been selected as one of Oy Chicago’s DoubleChai 36 Under 36 while in the role of Chicago Field Manager! Our Chicago Jewish community is filled with leaders that I have been fortunate to learn from; I have no doubt that our Jewish population is in good hands with my 35 peers at the lead.
I want to take a moment to dedicate this honor to a dear friend and former supervisor of mine, Kasey Passen (z”l). Kasey, a 2018 36Under36 honoree, was an accomplished chef who added flavor to more than just the food she shared, but to the world around her. Kasey stayed active in the Jewish community and created friendships through meals, all with a smile on her face. Our world lost Kasey too soon and I am so blessed to have shared even a small amount of time with her. Kasey, you inspire me to tackle life with a sense of humor, a hunger for new flavors, and some serious spunk. Thank you for continuing to teach me how to be my best self every day. There’s no question in my mind that I am a better Jew, person, and friend because of you.
Your donation means so much to the work that we do at OneTable. Around the dinner table, our community flourishes and brings meaning and joy to the greater population of Jews across the country. Any way that you can help us bring Jewish young adults together across dinner tables in Chicago is appreciated. Challah really makes the world go ‘round.
