Powered By OneTable Celebrates Five Years of Exponential Impact
After more than 1 million engagements in just over 10 years, and five years of Powered By OneTable, we know that OneTable has a “secret sauce” when it comes to community-building events. It’s the special garnish that makes each gathering—whether it’s a Shabbat dinner full of young adults at the beach or a corporate affinity group meeting in a conference room—impactful and empowering to all involved. From our initial work with young adults and our newer work with midlife adults through OneTable Together, as well as with our Powered By OneTable clients, we’ve had more than a decade to perfect the recipe!
Speaking of recipes, I should note that I’m a huge recipe person. I have more than 1,000 recipes in my cookbook app, I’m always on the hunt for new ideas, and I love trying new things in the kitchen. For baking, I know it’s essential to follow the recipe to the letter. For cooking, I consider recipes more like trusty guides. I can start with the listed ingredients, and I’m a confident enough chef to adjust based on what’s in the pantry, who I’m feeding, or just how experimental I feel that day.
OneTable’s Secret Sauce Recipe
Our secret sauce, just like my tomato sauce, depends on knowing how to dial up or down the ingredients depending on the circumstances. Here are some of the metaphorical ingredients we’ve been using for the past 10 years, and we continue to perfect our craft.
- Start with people. OneTable is human-centered, so we prioritize getting to know our community members and clients. We go out of our way to be welcoming, inviting, and inclusive. We want everyone to feel seen and known: likes, dislikes, wants, and needs. Only with this information can an event truly cater to its participants.
- Add in the wisdom of Shabbat. Jewish tradition is living and shaped by people. Rituals and community become alive, important, and meaningful because of what we bring to them and how we shape them. This non-prescriptive intentionality is beyond important for successful events.
- Layer on the benefits. OneTable knows that gathering is good for us. People can be brought together through moments, rituals, and experiences, and all of it fights loneliness, cultivates joy, and empowers people to do it again in the future. By empowering others to participate, we created shared experiences enriched with peer-to-peer modeling at the events and to help the communities grow.
- Mix in any feedback. We are always asking, “How can we do it better?” When something doesn’t work, we don’t give up, we iterate. We’re dynamic, have tenacity, and model all of this with our communities by truly taking on board any feedback.
Tracking Success with Powered By OneTable
With five years of engagement from dozens of Powered By OneTable clients, we know this recipe is a winner for any gathering. Our Software as a Service (SaaS) platform offers our clients’ community members the opportunity to directly connect and create their own events, empowering each to become a community creator and leader. For clients as diverse as 50 Hillel campuses, The Dinner Party, and SignatureFD, this has cumulatively totaled more than 10,000 events connecting more than 60,000 individuals. That’s a lot of impact in just a few years!
Powered By OneTable Is Here to Help
If you’re looking for a way to exponentially increase your impact and create community, we’re here to help. Adopting a Powered By OneTable platform means utilizing accessible, best-in-class, customizable technology and peer-to-peer strategy to spur amazing results. It also generates data that staff members can use in future decision-making. It’s truly a win-win for all involved.
But we’re not just tech! As we’ve grown, we’ve added a client success manager to our recipe. This position focuses exclusively on our clients’ experiences so that they can adapt and leverage the platform for their needs. Each new client relationship starts with an engagement “bootcamp” with the manager, helping the client understand the peer-to-peer methodology and how they can best use it to support their unique goals, efforts, branding, and community. We’ve had such a fantastic response to this method that we’re now offering everything we know about successful engagement through consulting services as well.
