Living Links and OneTable Partner to Connect Descendants of Holocaust Survivors Through Shared History and Shabbat

The partnership will provide descendants with resources to host Shabbat dinners and share their families’ testimonies in their own communities

September 15 – Washington D.C. – Living Links, the first nationwide organization created for descendants of Holocaust survivors — particularly grandchildren (“3Gs”) — to share their families’ stories, and OneTable, a North American non-profit that empowers young adults to find, share, and enjoy Shabbat dinners in their own homes and communities, are partnering to bring 3G Stories Shabbat to cities across the United States.

“Our organizations share a deep commitment to strengthening community through meaningful experiences,” said Amy Haddad, director of operations for Living Links. “This Shabbat dinner initiative reflects our promise as descendants to share our stories and ensure our families’ legacies continue to inspire action.”

The 3G Stories Shabbat dinners will be held on October 17. Living Links invites descendants of Holocaust survivors to host a OneTable Shabbat dinner and bring together other 3Gs, descendants, and community members. OneTable provides hosts and guests with easily accessible tools and resources for dinners and rituals, making customized Shabbat practices attainable and sustainable.

“OneTable is honored to team up with Living Links for Shabbat dinners dedicated to 3Gs and other descendants of Holocaust survivors in communities across the country,” said MJ Kurs-Lasky, senior director of national partnerships at OneTable. “We believe in the importance of connecting over shared histories and learning from each other, so we may continue to build community. It all comes back to meaningful gatherings with good food, good people, and good conversations around the Shabbat dinner table.”

Anyone interested in hosting or attending a 3G Stories Shabbat on October 17 or a future date can sign up online. Visit onetable.org to learn more about their mission or find a dinner near you.

ABOUT LIVING LINKS

Living Links is the first national organization devoted to mobilizing and empowering the descendants of Holocaust survivors. In partnership with the USC Shoah Foundation, we find children, grandchildren, even great-grandchildren of survivors, welcome them into a community, and enlist them in keeping their family testimonies alive and relevant. We train them in how to retell those stories for modern audiences, and we amplify their work to maximize the impact they have on society.

ABOUT ONETABLE

OneTable is a North American non-profit empowering people who don’t yet have a consistent Shabbat dinner practice to build one that feels authentic, sustainable, and valuable. The backbone of OneTable is a focus on empowering young adults to find, share, and enjoy impactful Shabbat dinners, making the most of their Friday nights. They’ve extended the table to new generations by inviting those 50ish+ to do the same with OneTable Together, and have adapted their signature Software as a Service (SaaS) technology to help other organizations overcome community building barriers. Together, their family of offerings helps make community accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for all. Learn more at www.onetable.org.
