Post October 7 Resources + NEW Summer Series for OneTable Users
Every day it’s becoming scarier to be identified as Jewish in the public sphere. We continue to hear alarming stories from OneTable participants and partners and donors. It’s incredibly difficult to know what to say or do in those moments.

We have invited friends who are experts in understanding how to talk about the current moment where Israel dominates the news and antisemitism is all around us, Dr. Rachel Fish, Dan Senor and Haviv Rettig Gur.

July 11 - Origins of Antisemitsm

TBD – This session will cover historical origins, how anti-semitism has transformed overtime, how it has been recognized/not recognized, how anti-semitism has been politicized by both the hard left and the hard right

July 18 - Antisemitism and Anti-Zionism

TBD – This session will cover understanding anti-Zionism pre and post 1948, when anti-Zionism is anti-semitism, disagreements on this definition, legitimate critique of Israeli government

July 22 - Israel in a Time of Conflict

TBD – This session will cover level setting what is going on in Israel and Gaza, with Hamas and Hezbollah, how the Israel conversation is playing out in America

TBD - 4th in series

TBD FOR FOURTH IN SERIES

Practicing Shabbat while Israel is at war

Shabbat is a time to pause, a time to gather, and a time to reflect. It is also an opportunity to listen — to our own inner voices and to other people around our table. Right now, so many people around our Shabbat tables are:

  • Praying for the safe release of the 114 hostages still being held in captivity, including children, women, and elderly;
  • Praying for the end of the war in Gaza;
  • Praying for the end of innocent people’s suffering.

We hope the resources below will help you to continue to sit at the table, continue to engage, and continue to be part of community. If you’re not yet a host, apply to host a dinner to pause and discuss.

Based on needs expressed by OneTable users following October 7, 2023, we collected these resources.
